Well Money in the Bank has come and gone and I have to say it was a bit underwhelming. The night featured two fantastic matches in Owens-Cena and Ambrose-Rollins but was mediocre in the rest. Why would they place the Money in the Bank Ladder match as the very first match of the night? To me it felt like it sucked a bit of energy out of the building having the marquee match first followed by Ryback and Big show or the Divas match? I guess it made people (like me) think that Sheamus was going to cash in at the end of the show since they were on first, but still it didn't seem to make much sense.
I am not a fan of Sheamus winning the briefcase and the world title shot. I just find Sheamus such a boring character that does not deserve to be in the heavyweight title mix.
I thought the Cena-Owens match was fantastic. Lots of innovative moves and plenty of near falls. These two have some pretty great chemistry and I was excited about the way they booked the finish. Owens loses but still looks like a beast after injuring Cena. This will set up a match at Summerslam where they can close the chapter on this amazing feud,
Ambrose-Rollins match was fantastic as well. I actually really like how they booked Seth winning without any help. Now he looks like a legitimate champion who doesn't need the Authority to squeak by. This is going to set up a great feud after Brock Lesnar comes back. Bummed out for Dean Ambrose though but since it was a screwy finish, that means Ambrose will still be in the mix for the belt.
Amazing tributes all night to Dusty Rhodes. I was almost in tears listening to Renee Young choke on her words after watching the tribute video. Very emotional night for everyone and the American Dream would have been proud of all the lives he touched.
